When I travel with my kids, I have two thoughts in mind..

Play and Purpose.

This weekend my son and I flew to FL for his Spring Break. Kaleb is 13 years old so I wanted to be very intentional - with both fun and conversations of going from a boy to a man.

As for Play…

I wanted to make sure we had lots of fun and laughed.

I rented a 4-door jeep, and we took the top off.

We played lots and lots of pickleball.

Threw the football in the pool.

Watched NCAA games.

We were also about Purpose.

Every morning, we read from Joshua as part of my Bible in a Year program.

(side note - it was really special, because we read it with my dad! Three generations reading the Bible together was pretty cool.)

On this trip I also wanted to have a longer discussion of The Five Marks of a Man, a framework created by our pastor, Brian Tome.

We’ve discussed it before, but always good to review! Below are the Five Marks, so you can review them as well - for yourself, as well as share with your kids.

1: Men have a vision, boys live day to day

2: Men are in minority, boys in majority

3: Men are team players, boys about ‘I’

4: Men work hard, boys only play

5: Men are protectors, boys are predators

Make it a great week!
